Our Library offers the following services

Digital Library service

Users are allowed to access the vast collection of E Resources subscribed by the library through N-LIST and DELNET.

New Arrivals Display

New books are displayed in the library for a couple of days to inform the users about its arrival.

Current Awareness Service and Selective Dissemination of Information (S D I)

Users are provided with latest information to make them well-informed and up-to-date in their fields of basic interest as well as in related subjects.

Book lending service

Users are allowed to lend books from the library for a fortnight.

Reference & Information service

Library staff provides assistance to everyone in the academic community for the identification and use of specific resource materials.

Newspaper Clipping Service

News related to the college and other important news items are displayed in the notice board for the benefit of users.

User Orientation & Information literacy classes for students

Orientation classes are conducted occasionally to educate the students and new users about library resources and its usage.

Reprographic Service

Two photocopying machines are installed in the library. Students and staff can avail reprography service at the rate of Rs.1.00/- per page

Internet Browsing

Our library has 20 computers for internet browsing. Students have free access to the internet for academic purposes.

OPAC Service

The online public access catalogue (OPAC) allows library users to carry out online catalogue search and check the availability of the item in the library. 5 computers are available for OPAC searching.

Plagiarism Detection Service

Library has access to Ouriginal plagiarism checking software through Calicut University. Teachers can do plagiarism check for their research papers by contacting the librarian.


Online Question Bank

Question papers are available in the library website and DSPACE institutional repository. Hard copies of the question papers are also available in the library.

  • Allocate funds to departments for purchase of books.
  • Ensure a functional infrastructure with adequate facilities.
  • Make provision for adequate library services.

Issue system

The library provides open access to its documents and any member can browse through the collections which are arranged according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC). OPAC -Online Public Access Catalogue is also available to locate the documents. The members can select the book of their choice and it will be issued against their identity card. Issue and return of books are carried out at the circulation desk. Reference books are not for issue and are to be referred inside the Library.


Membership

Only the members of the staff & students of this college are entitled to the use of the library. Written permission from the Principal is necessary for outsiders to use the Library facility.

  • Slippers and bags should be kept outside the library near the grill.
  • Students should bring only paper and pen inside the library.
  • Students are not permitted to enter the library without identity card.
  • Identity card should be scanned at the entrance.
  • Strict silence must be observed in the library, reading room, and its immediate premises.
  • Books should be handled with great care.
  • Pencil marks, ink stains, and underlining in books, destruction in binding, tearing of pages, pictures etc. will be treated as serious damage and fined accordingly. For Damage to or loss of books, students might replace such books or pay the compensation.
  • Students are instructed to return the books as per due date. A fine of Rs 1 will be collected for each day after due date if the student fails to return the book on time.
  • Reference books such as Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Yearbooks, Literary reference etc. should be consulted within the library.
  • No combined reference work or discussion is to be done inside the library or reading room.
  • Students are not allowed to sub lend their books, ID cards and library cards.
